Honey Whole Wheat Rolls

  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp buttered, softened
  • 3-4 cups fresh milled flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tsp honey
  • sea salt

Recipe Instructions

Grind 3 cups of white winter wheat, enough to make 3-4 cups of flour.  Add yeast, milk, honey, and butter to mixer bowl. While the mixer is running add 2 cups fresh ground flour. Beat on medium for 3 minutes. Add additional flour as necessary. Knead on speed 2 for 6-8 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour. Grease 9×13 pan. Divide dough into 15 pieces. Roll into balls and place in pan. Cover and let rise for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Brush tops of the rolls with butter and honey and lightly sprinkle with sea salt.
