Gratin Potatoes

Product Used

  • 2 lb potatoes
  • 5 oz gruyere cheese
  • 5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • to taste salt & pepper

Recipe Instructions

Grate the cheese using the 2-mm grating disc. Set aside. Peel and wash the potatoes. Dry them. Using the 2-mm slicing disc, cut the potatoes into thin slices. Preheat the oven to 355 degrees (gas mark 4). Peel the garlic and cut in half. Rub and oven dish with the garlic, then butter it. Cover the bottom of the dish with a layer of sliced potatoes. Add some of the cheese, salt, and pepper, a little heavy whipping cream and repeat until all the ingredients have been used up, ending with the grated cheese. Stir the nutmeg into the milk and pour over the preparation. Bake for 1 hour and serve straight from the oven.

Check that the potatoes are cooked by inserting a knife; the blade should not encounter any resistance.
