Turkey Shepherd’s Pie

Whether you have leftover turkey from a family dinner or you want to cut down on the cholesterol in the traditional version of this entree, try making this turkey shepherd’s pie in a Bosch mixer.

  • 2 ½ cups of turkey
  • ¼ cup of corn
  • ¼ cup of green beans or peas
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups of mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup of gravy
  • 2 tbsps of unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup chopped celery
  • ¾ cup of diced onion
  • 1 clove of minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup of chopped carrots
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp basil
  • ½ tsp thyme

  RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, using a large pan, heat the butter on medium heat and add the celery, onion, and carrots. Cook them until the onion turns translucent, then add the garlic and cook for 1-minute. After that, add the corn, turkey, green beans (or peas), gravy, and seasoning. Stir to combine the ingredients evenly as the food is heated. Once all the ingredients are incorporated and heated, press the contents of the pan into a 1-quart casserole dish. Be sure the layer is even so it will cook all the way through. Heat up your leftover mashed potatoes and add half of your shredded cheese to the warm mashed potatoes. Spread the mashed potatoes and cheese mixture over the shepherd pie filling and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top. If you don’t have leftover mashed potatoes, you can easily whip up a batch of them in the Bosch Universal Plus mixer.   Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes and broil for a few minutes to char the cheese, if desired. With this recipe in your pocket and a Bosch stand mixer, you won’t have to wonder what to do with leftovers ever again!
