With the help of a Bosch mixer, you whip up some delicious creamy garlic mashed potatoes in no time, leaving no uneven chunks of butter or unmixed potatoes.
- 1 head of garlic
- 2 sprigs of fresh thyme (or 1 tbsp dried)
- ⅓ cup of room temperature Greek yogurt
- 2 ½ lbs of russet potatoes
- 1 cup of warm milk
- 4 oz of softened butter
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
- Chopped parsley (optional)
CREAMY GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees then chop the head of your garlic off, so all the individual cloves are exposed, but the rest of the skin is in place. Place the garlic on aluminum and drizzle it with the oil, then wrap up the garlic and place it in the oven for 30 minutes. Once it is done, you will remove the skin and finely dice the cloves.
As the garlic cooks, wash and peel your potatoes. Once they are all peeled, chop them into small chunks and place in a pot. Pour in enough water to cover the potatoes and add a teaspoon of salt to speed up the cooking. Bring the potatoes pot to a boil for about 15-20 minutes. Check the tenderness of your potatoes with a fork. When they are tender and easy to poke, you can strain your potatoes in a colander.
Allow your potatoes to cool for a minute and take that time to ready your Bosch Universal Plus Mixer. Make sure you have the wire whip attachment on so your potatoes can be evenly beat together. Now, add the potatoes, garlic, butter, Greek yogurt, and pepper. As your stand mixer runs, slowly add the milk. Feel free to add more milk or Greek yogurt to make your potatoes even creamier.
