Meals You Can Prep Using Only Your Food Mixer From Bosch

Meal prep can be a tedious task, requiring all sorts of equipment, mixing bowls, pans, and copious amounts of cleanup afterwards. Or is it?…With your Bosch stand mixer, you can create an assortment of meals using only one prep tool – slashing clean up time and cluttered counter space.

Pasta and Meatballs

Mix dough ingredients in your Bosch universal plus mixer to create fresh, tasty pasta with the pasta maker attachment. Then clean out the bowl to mix ingredients for meatballs. You can use store bought ground meat, or grind your own using the meat grinder attachment for Bosch mixers.

Meatball Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground veal
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped Italian flat leaf parsley
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups stale Italian bread, crumbled
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 cup olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine beef, veal, and pork in a large bowl. Add garlic, eggs, cheese, parsley, salt and pepper.
  2. Blend bread crumbs into meat mixture. Slowly add the water 1/2 cup at a time. The mixture should be very moist but still hold its shape if rolled into meatballs. (Your meatballs may not require the full 1.5 cups of water.) Shape into meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Fry meatballs in batches. When the meatball is very brown and slightly crisp remove from the heat and drain on a paper towel. (If your mixture is too wet, cover the meatballs while they are cooking so that they hold their shape better.)

Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 6 Eggs

Directions

Combine the flour & salt in a large bowl and whisk to blend. Make a well in the center. Place the eggs, olive oil, and 1 Tbsp water in the well. Working as rapidly as possible, gradually pull the flour from the edges of the well into the liquid ingredients with a fork and stir into a shaggy mass form. As the dough is mixed, adjust the consistency with the additional flour or water so that it is pliable but not sticky. Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface and knead until the texture becomes smooth and elastic, about 10-12 minutes. Gather and smooth the kneaded dough into a ball, cover, and let the dough relax at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Use the BOSCH Universal Mixer and Pasta roller attachments to roll out the pasta dough to the desired thickness. Attach one of the pasta cutter attachments to cut the pasta into fettuccine or angel hair pasta. Use immediately or hang and dry pasta for 8-12 hours. Place pasta in salted boiling water and cook until desired consistency is reached.

Pizza

Use your Bosch mixer to mix up excellent pizza dough. Then stack your dough with all of your favorite toppings for home made, delicious pizza.

Ingredients

  • 1¼-oz. envelope active dry yeast (about 2¼ tsp.)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 3½ cups 00 flour (or All-purpose flour), plus more for surface
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for bowl
  • Semolina flour (for dusting)

Directions

  1. Mix together yeast, sugar, and 1¼ cups warm (not hot) water in the base of your Bosch mixer. Leave it for 10 minutes in a warm place to fully dissolve. Once yeast is dissolved, add salt and 3.5 cups of 00 flour or all-purpose flour and fully incorporate using the dough hook. Mix on low speed. Add ¼ cup oil. Knead with dough hook on low speed until dough is smooth and elastic.
  2. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and give it a few turns by hand to finish kneading it; it will still be slightly sticky. Return dough to a well oiled Bosch stand mixer bowl (remove attachments) and allow to rise 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until dough has doubled in size.
  3. Punch down dough to deflate and turn out onto a well-floured work surface. Divide into 8 pieces (about 4 oz. each); shape each into a ball. Cover with a kitchen towel and let stand 15 minutes before stretching dough. Or, transfer balls to a floured rimmed baking sheet and chill until cold.
  4. Dust a large work surface with a mixture of 00 flour and semolina flour. If dough has been chilled, transfer a ball to work surface and let stand until still cool but not cold (it should register about 60° on an instant-read thermometer).
  5. Working one at a time, press and stretch dough balls into 9”–10” rounds, sprinkling with more 00 and semolina flour as needed to keep dough from sticking (use as little as you can). Using one hand as a guide, shape a slightly thicker rim around edge. If dough resists or shrinks back as you shape it, let it rest before proceeding; do not overwork dough. (Alternatively, you can roll dough out with a rolling pin.)
  6. Heat a 10”–12” cast-iron skillet over medium heat until very hot, about 5 minutes. Working one at a time, carefully transfer dough to skillet and cook, flipping once and rotating crust to encourage even cooking, until barely tan and browned in a few spots, about 5 minutes total. Press any thicker parts against the pan to help cook through. Transfer crusts to wire racks or baking sheets as you work, brushing off any excess flour. Let cool.

Meatloaf

For this meal, you can start by grinding your own meat using the meat grinder attachment for bosch mixers. Add spices and other mix-in ingredients then combine using the paddle attachments. Form ground meat into your loaf pan, and bake! Serve with veggies or salad to create a well rounded meal your family will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage leaves or 1/4 teaspoon dried sage leaves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 3 slices bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
  • ½ cup ketchup, chili sauce or barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Optional- Grind meat for lean ground beef using your meat grinder attachment.
  3. In your Bosch mixer, mix each of the ingredients together – excluding the ketchup. Transfer mixture to a loaf pan. Do not grease the pan. Then spread the ketchup on top of the loaf.
  4. Bake uncovered 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until thermometer reads 160°F. A meat thermometer should be inserted so that the tip of the thermometer is in the center of the loaf.
