Advice On Healthy Versions of Favorite Meals From My Mommy Style

Cooking from scratch can seem intimidating, which Camille from My Mommy Style confirmed when she responded to the Bosch homemade and healthy cooking interview. But that didn’t stop her from stepping up to the counter and trying her hand at creating fun, new recipes to feed her family. Read on to see what helped her overcome her cooking fears and what fabulous recipe she shared with us!

What value do you get from making meals from scratch? Why do you feel it is better and healthier for you/your family?

“One of the best things I’ve ever done for my family is learning how to get over the fear of cooking. For so long, I worried about making it a big deal but finally realized cooked meals and time spent around the table is where the magic happens. Whether it is a risotto or a grilled cheese sandwich I always enjoy spending time with my family. We love to play a game: funniest, worst, and best and sharing things that happened to each of us that day.

To help my kids eat more vegetables, I try making the old seem new. We cut English cucumbers really thin and call them cucumber chips. The kids also think that the full-size carrots are something extra special because they were so used to the smaller size, pre-cut carrots.”

What’s one of your favorite healthy recipes (old or new) that you recommend for others to incorporate into their health-related resolutions this new year? Please explain why.

“I’ve been experimenting with new ways of cooking this year. Eating less carbs has opened my eyes to new ways of eating. My favorite breakfast lately has been two eggs cooked medium hard, a fist full of asparagus cooked in coconut oil, and a full cup of blueberries. It keeps me fueled and makes we have a more stable blood sugar throughout the day by starting the morning off right.We discovered how to make spaghetti squash in the instant pot and fell in love with this Keto low-carb spaghetti.”
