A charcuterie plate with complimentary cheese is a staple of any elegant holiday party because all it really takes is assembly on a nice serving tray if you didn’t cut the meat and cheese yourself. But if you want to add to your available appetizers without spending hours in the kitchen, Bosch Mixers has your back. Below are 6 delicious appetizers you can put together in 45 minutes or less.
1. Bacon-Wrapped Dates Recipe
Bacon-wrapped anything is usually a hit, but to elevate the standard bacon appetizer, you can wrap dates in bacon for a flavorful snack. To make these, you need:
- 16 oz medium-thick bacon
- 20-25 Medjool dates
- 20-25 toasted almonds
- 4 oz goat cheese
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. To prepare your dates, you will need to slit them open slightly and remove the pit, replacing it with a bit of goat cheese. Slip an almond into the date then press the date closed again.
After you cut your bacon in half width-wise, wrap a piece around a date then skewer the bacon in place with a toothpick. As you go, arrange the bacon-wrapped dates on the baking sheet. Once ready, place them in the oven for 15 minutes. At the 15-minute mark, turn your dates over to the other side so the bacon crisps evenly.
Blot the grease on paper towels, then arrange and serve warm.
2. Salmon Rillettes Recipe
For an elegant appetizer that takes very little work, making salmon rillettes is an excellent choice. All you need are:
- 6 oz unsalted butter, at room temperature, divided
- 6 oz (cold) smoked salmon or lox
- 6 oz hot smoked salmon
- 7 tbsp minced shallots
- 5 tbsp prepared horseradish
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Crackers, pickles, or baguette, for serving
Place 6 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan, melting it at medium-low heat. Add in the shallots then cover the pan and stir occasionally until tender, which takes about 5 minutes. Season the shallots with the pepper and salt, then remove from heat. Once it is cool, add the horseradish.
Add both types of salmon and the butter to your Bosch Universal Plus Mixer. Once you have the wire whips attachment on, blend everything together. Combine the shallots mixture to the salmon, adding more salt and pepper to taste. Just before you are ready to serve, stir in your parsley.
