3 Simple & Spooky Treats For Your Halloween Festivities

When it comes to Halloween, a lot of your creative energy has likely gone into costume design and decorating your home, leaving you without much time for spooky holiday treats.

To help you turn out some simple and delicious Halloween-themed snacks quickly, Bosch Mixers is here to provide you with 3 tasty treats.

Rice Krispie Mummies

This adorably spooky treat comes from Creme De La Crumb and is incredibly easy to whip up. All you need are:

  • 6 snack-sized Rice Krispies
  • 3 cups of white chocolate chips
  • Black piping gel
  • Red food coloring

To make some rice krispie mummies, simply melt down the chocolate in the microwave and dip the rice krispies into the melted chocolate. Once the layer of white chocolate has cooled, scoop the remaining chocolate into a sandwich baggie, snip a corner, and drizzle the chocolate to create the mummy wrapping. Place the black gel where you want eyes to be and use a Q-tip to dab a little red food coloring to make the eyes extra scary.

If you want to make your own rice krispie treats, you can easily put together a batch when you use a Bosch Universal Plus stand mixer.

Spooky Fingers

In less than 15 minutes, you can put together these spooky fingers and have them ready to serve in no time. What you need to make them are:

  • 20 pretzel rods
  • 20 almonds
  • 8 oz white chocolate
  • Food coloring

Line a baking sheet with wax paper and pour the chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Slowly microwave the chocolate, so it doesn’t become scorched. Once it is all mixed, add the food coloring of your choice. After the food coloring is fully incorporated, dip the pretzel rods into the chocolate and place them onto the lined baking sheet. Before it cools, press an almond to the tip of the pretzel rod. Place the whole tray in your fridge for 10-15 minutes, then enjoy!

Halloween Sugar Cookies

For an interactive Halloween party treat, you can make a batch of sugar cookies using Halloween cookie cutters. All you will need for this recipe is:

  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 ¼  tsp baking powder
  • ½  tsp salt
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾  cups granulated sugar
  • ¾  cups butter, softened

In your Bosch stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar using your wire whips. Following that, add vanilla and eggs while continuing to let your mixer run. Next add baking powder, flour, and salt. Mix these all together with your cookie paddle attachment until your dough is lump-free. Detach your mixing bowl from the stand, cover, and place in your refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Cover your cookie sheet with a baking liner and set your oven to 350F. After the dough has chilled, roll it out on a flour-dusted countertop, cut out Halloween shapes of your choice, and place the cookies on the sheet. Bake cookies for 10-11 minutes or until dough barely begins to golden. Let them cool before adding icing. Color your frosting and decorate your Halloween sugar cookies as you see fit!
